Terms of use — Essential Eight Scorecard
Draft. This document is written in plain English against the Australian Privacy Principles and is awaiting legal review — a go-live gate before any public launch (09 §6).
What this tool is
The Essential Eight Scorecard is a free self-assessment. It turns the answers you give into an indicative read on your maturity against the ASD Essential Eight Maturity Model, plus practical suggestions. It's a starting map, not an audit.
What the results are — and aren't
- Results are indicative and based entirely on self-reported answers. They are not a security audit, professional advice, a compliance determination, or a certification of any kind.
- The “Cyber Score” is produced by Stanfield IT to make progress visible. It is not an ACSC rating.
- Decisions you make based on the results are your own. To the extent permitted by law, Stanfield IT accepts no liability for actions taken (or not taken) on the basis of this tool's output.
Non-affiliation
The Essential Eight is a framework published by the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD). This is an independent tool: not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for the ASD or the Australian Cyber Security Centre.
Fair use
The tool is free for genuine self-assessment. Don't abuse it: no scraping, no bulk automated submissions, no attempts to access assessments that aren't yours. We rate-limit and monitor for abuse.
Privacy
How we handle your data is covered by the privacy policy.
